Members News - October 2008
We're back from our break! The turmoil with the World's finances and the drop in the Aussie Dollar is not going to make things easy. The imports and shopping overseas are going to be much more expensive! We'll try and hold our prices as long as possible, but most things on this Website are imported, so there will come a time when prices will increase. So those discerning modellers out there, better to get in quick and place your orders before things go up. Prices will change without notice.
As you may be aware, we are diversifying our product range, moving away from being a predominantly LiPo dsitributor/supplier to one with a wide range of products, both RC-related and completely unrelated. Some of the reasons for this are listed below, but this being a family company, we have other non-RC related business and interests, which we intend to place under the "umbrella" of the one company.
We import, supply or have manufactured overseas, mainly in China, a multitude of good quality products for the Corporate Gift & Promotional Items market in Australia. The products range from simple fridge magnets, cooler & sports bags, squeeze drink bottles, stubby holders, hats, caps, T-Shirts, Staff Uniforms & Clothing, Towels, Vinyl Banners & Advertising Signs, Printing of Corporate Brochures & Lab Record Books, Thermal Underwear and Adhesive "Glue" dots.
One of our reasons for going into the LiPo Battery business, was to offer our customers good service and "value for money" products as many suppliers out there were only concerned with making large profits. We believe the same applies to our other businesses too, and our philosophy to offer a good product at a reasonable price still stands. So keep tuned to the up and coming changes to this site.
In respect to our LiPo battery business in Australia, we are at a disadvantage to those businesses operating offshore, as we have to pay duty and GST on the products which we import. More so now, as many of the products offered overseas, have improved in quality and in price.
We are also disadvantaged by the high cost in postal charges here, and have to compete with other countries where postal charges are much lower or are subsidised by the respective Governments in the countries in which they are based.
Be that as it may, we still have our customer service, and from what we have seen in respect to a well-known Web-based hobby business based in Hong Kong, customer service is virtually non-existence, especially when it comes to the repair or replacement of defective products. So customers beware, you may be able to buy it cheaper overseas, but in the long run, it may cost you much more.
Our 2500mAh 20C 7.4V 2S1P packsare a favourite amongst our customers that combined two or more packs in series, parallel or both to increase the capacity and/or voltage to suit their aircraft, whether it be a fixed or rotary winged aircraft. We can supply Deans Ultra Plugs in wired Series or Parallel.
Our 470mAh 2S1P & 2480mAh 3S1P packs & our 2480mAh bare cells are completely SOLD OUT! Stocks of some other packs are also nearly depleted, so make your purchases today in order to avoid disappointment. Please note, as with all new technology there are constant changes/improvements with the batteries, so much so, some depleted stocks will not be replaced by the same type/capacity packs as they are usually superceded by newer and better performing packs.
By the way, our LiPo battery cells are not made in China (not yet anyway), but are made in Korea or Malaysia. All our battery packs are assembled in Malaysia.
